Aloha,
I will be happy to call the number. I have a question first about how to lay wall tile.
I know you probably already answered but I wasn't able to open it.
How do I cut circles, say like for the shower thing?
I saw a circle bit you can attach to a drill. Is that what I should use?
There are a few wet saw also. $88 to $800. Which one should I start with?
Mahalo,
(Thanks ya'll)
Hope you are having a sunny day,
Cutting a circle in a tile is almost impossible.
Some of the wall tiles are soft enough to drill into.
But your larger tiles like the 8x8 and 12x12
You would need a diamond drill bit.
My girl friend has a Bed and Breakfast here in MS,
and she needed a safety bar put in her shower, I new I couldn't
do it but I tried to drill in a piece of 12x12 tile instead of drilling
Into the grout joint like I should.
There was no way it would do it, even a 1/8 drill bit would not do it.
With a carbon tip.
But in the video you will see that what you do is cut out a very small
Square, and let the flanges of the fixtures cover the over size edges.
You will see in the Saw cutting video it's not that hard to do.
And by the way,
I think the smaller wet saw is just find for arount the house jobs,

I'm having trouble cutting in my light switches
on my backslash.
The tile I am using is a 12x12 ceramic tile.
And the backslash cuts fall in the middle of the
tiles.
Can I cut a square in a tile?
You sure can ,
The How To Lay Ceramic Tile countertop and backslash video
has a cutting video that comes with it Free.
And goes into detail about cutting tile and even
cutting tile around a tile backslash light switch.
Do you not take the base boards off to laying tile? What about the door jam? Do you just lay tile up to it or should you cut the jam and lay under it?
You don't have to remove your baseboard to
lay your tile.
But it is the right way to lay Ceramic tile.
It sure is a lot easer to cut your tile
knowing that your base board will cover up some
of your mistakes.
And any time a wall is just a little out of square it shows real bad when you don't remove the base board.
For cutting your tile around the door jams.
Lowe's has a real net jam saw for about $10.00
after cutting the jams you can slide your tiles
right under the door jam
Your tile cuts will look so much better and are so much easer and faster to cut.

One big questions I have.
Does it matter the price / quality of the tile?
What are the pros and cons of buying home depot tile at 1.50 sq. ft.
over going to a tile specialty shop and paying 4.00 sq. ft. for it?
It's been my experience that you get what you pay for in most cases.
The cheep tiles are often sized deferent, one may be just a little smaller than the other.
as for ware, I don't think it makes much deference unless you are placing the tile in a
place like a store with tons of traffic.
Also watch for damage tiles with the low cost ones, they have a lot of chipped tiles
at times.
The special order tiles will cost more but in most cases they offer more options such
as trim to match and decos.
You should look for shade variation in the low cost tiles, if you install the tile and then see that some of these cheep tiles have a shade deference then it's to lay.
All you can do is bust them out and take the lose,
